When Shinjo is about to get beaten by a stick, Aniya has come to the rescue. They are now both fighting for their friends and the baseball club.
Very worried, Kawato-sensei stops the furious baseball team from attacking their enemies using their baseball bats. He doesn’t want them to fight their enemies using these things. He believes that they don’t need their bats to protect something which is important to them. If they are going to do this, he wants them to do it with pride and dignity. And so, running to the rescue of their friends, the students have left behind their baseball bats and fought with their bare hands to protect the most important things in their lives.
The next day, during a meeting, the principal has expelled all of the baseball team members who have got involved in the fight. However, Kawato-sensei stands up for his students, explaining to the principal that his students just want to protect the things which are important to them. The vice principal agrees with Kawato-sensei and tries to convince the principal to change his mind. With everyone on Kawato’s side, the principal has no choice but to give him and the baseball club another chance.
One day, while everyone is in the club room, Kawato-sensei posts a white paper on the board. It tells about flourishing your dreams and aiming for Koshien. Eveyone laughs at it except for Mikoshiba who believes that they stand a chance if Aniya will just join them.
The following day, Aniya goes to the baseball club room and finds his friends preparing for their practice. Wakana notices the white paint on Aniya’s finger and surprisingly everyone has white paint on their fingers too. Sekikawa then invited everyone to go out on the field and have their practice. Mikoshiba wants to invite Aniya but Wakana forbids him and explains to him that if they invite Aniya, he’ll get pissed and he might not come to the club room again.
Inside the room, Aniya is staring at the white poster on the board when Kawato comes in. Kawato mentions about his finger getting a white paint and the baseball club’s dream of going to Koshien. Upon hearing this, Aniya suddenly becomes irritated and tears the poster apart. He angrily leaves the room and Kawato is left in shock.
While trying to figure out how he could put back the torn paper together, Kawato sees Yagi, the childhood friend of Aniya . In their conversation, Kawato learns that Aniya is one of the best baseball players around. However, during the national game last year, Aniya had completely lost his pride as he watched the team that defeated him lost in the second round. He realized that no matter how much he tries, there’s something out of reach.
Upon learning this, Kawato feels guilty about what he has said to Aniya. Since then, he has decided to give all his best to learn how to play baseball. Meanwhile, Yagi volunteered to be the club’s manager. Hiratsuka and Imaoka have also agreed to return to the baseball club.
Mikoshiba sees Aniya coming and he approaches him to convice him to play baseball with them again. But Aniya has become furious and Wakana becomes impatient too. He punches Aniya right on the face and they start to fight. Yagi wants to stop them but Kawato-sensei prohibits her. He tells her that this is their way of letting out all their feelings…. letting out all what they are hiding inside.
That day, Aniya goes to a nearby baseball field where he is being followed by Kawato-sensei. Kawato apologizes to Aniya and challenges him that he’ll make him strike three times with a bucket of balls. If Kawato becomes successful, Aniya will have to play with them. But if he fails, he will have to quite being the baseball advisor.
Heavy rain starts to pour out from the sky. As Kawato throws each ball in the bucket, Aniya hits them each time. Now with only three balls left, Kawato shows Aniya what’s left in his bucket. He reminds Aniya that if he misses all three, he will have to join the baseball club again.
Kawato throws the first ball. Aniya misses it. He then throws the second ball and again, Aniya misses it. Believing in Aniya and in his dream, Kawato throws the last of the three balls and Aniya, who just couldn’t throw away his pride, hits the ball with all his might…
Point blank and disappointed, Kawato falls down on his knees.
The next day, Kawato-sensei waits outside for his students to apologize to them. He is about to tell them about what has happened between him and Aniya when suddenly, they hear a familiar voice.
As they look at the direction where the voice is coming from, everybody becomes surprised so suddenly.
As if heaven has willed it, Aniya is standing a few meters away from them, all geared up, ready to play baseball.
